Funding the Trust
The National Trust is a non-profit, charitable organisation, and
as such depends on financial donations from the community. However,
every effort is made to diversify sources of income.
Approximately one-third of annual revenue is derived from rents
of Trust properties; one-third from donations and special event
fund raising; and one-third from a combination of sources including
cultural tourism and museum admissions, government grants, sales
and membership dues. Bequests provide an alternative means of assisting
the Trust in endowments and/or capital projects for the purpose
of protecting properties, museum collections and areas of environmental
importance to Bermuda.
