Trust Talk: Archaeology Tour at Smith’s Island
Trust Talk: Archaeology Tour at Smith’s Island
Take advantage of this very special opportunity to visit the ongoing dig on Smith’s Island and learn about the most recent findings at this site of early settlement and later periods.
The tour involves a 15-minute boat trip to the island and then a 10-minute walk to the dig site, where Dr Michael Jarvis and his team of students and volunteers will show you the excavations and features. The archaeology lab at the Globe Museum on King‘s Square will also be open to visitors, so you are welcome to stop by and learn from the team based there about the post-dig work of processing artefacts.
The boat will depart from the dock at Water Street East Car Park in St George’s.
